EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR A DIY PULLEY SYSTEM
SHOPPING LIST
- 2 x 3/8 nylon coated cable, 6 to 9 feet long depending on height and depth of rack.
- 4 x 3/8 eyelets or thimbles
- 6 x 3/8 cable fasteners
- 6 Carabiners
- 2 x 12-18″ double loop tie down straps
- 2 x 2″ 3/8 swivel pulleys
- A pair of pliers or wrenches for the cable fasteners
NOTES
Remember to measure the height and depth of your rack first and add a foot to that length to account for the eyelets and fasteners at both ends. You can always cut the cable down but you can’t add. No short DIY pulley system !!
As stated in the video, I’d also recommend laying the cable down on the floor to make sure both ends are flat as you fasten them. Two fasteners per side should be plenty. Just remember to alternate directions of each fastener and do not over tighten, crushing the cable.
