Air Fried Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

So the other day I was craving a buffalo chicken sandwich but I don’t eat fried food any more. What was I to do? I wasn’t going to fry and I damn sure wasn’t going to bake some chicken breasts in the oven just to have a dry ass sandwich that didn’t have that deep fried crunch we all love. So I made this air fried buffalo chicken sandwich.

The Master Plan.

First I switched out the chicken breasts for boneless chicken thighs. This is going to solve that dry chicken brick problem. Plus they give a whole new flavor profile. Next I switched out egg and flour for Olive oil and Panko bread crumbs. Now that I have what I’m going to use, Here’s how to make it.

What You’ll Need

  • Boneless Chicken Thighs
  • Plain Panko Bread Crumbs
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Olive Oil
  • Franks Red Hot Buffalo Sauce
  • Roll of choice. I used a Brioche roll

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl season chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.
  • Add olive oil to the mix but just enough to coat everything. This shouldn’t be more than a table spoon or so depending on how much chicken you have.
  • Place Panko in a pan and start slamming that chicken in there and coat those bad boys up.
  • Set your air fryer for 400 degrees and 25 min.
  • Make sure not to layer the chicken and to flip half way through the cooking process. This will ensure you get that CRUNCH.
  • Once they are done, grab yourself a bottle of Franks red hot buffalo sauce because it’s the best. Don’t argue with me. …. Seriously, It’s better than anything you are going to leave in my comments.

If you’re feeling extra frisky, you can add some home-made coleslaw to really give it a killer crunch punch to your munch hole.

Coleslaw Recipe

  • This is the same as the chicken when it comes to seasoning. It depends on how much you make but I’ll give you a place to start.
  • 1 cup Pre cut coleslaw. You can get this almost anywhere in your produce section.
  • 1-2 tbsp Mayo
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp White wine vinegar

Enjoy!!
